Scallywag is a Small Batch release blended whisky created using malt whisky from the Speyside region of Scotland. Spirit distilled at Mortlach, The Macallan and Glenrothes distilleries have been used in its creation and then bottled at 46% abv. The whisky is non chill-filtered and boasts a beautiful sherried, richly spiced character. Matured in Spanish Sherry butts this whisky takes on a naturally dark, rich colour. The term Scallywag is an endearing term for a ‘terror’ or ‘rascal’ in Scottish and Douglas Laing were inspired by their family of Fox Terriers to create this award winning blended whisky.

he bottler is Douglas Laing an independent bottler of fine Scotch whisky established in 1948. The concept is to enable whisky lovers around the world a chance to come as close as they can to sampling whisky as it was straight from the cask or having a whisky experience like no other.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: There is a great balance of nuttiness and oak and a plenty of delicious sherry notes.

Palate: Sherry and barley is a great combination and this whisky shows a marriage of these flavours. There is also an addition of oak and earthiness which again is just a treat to witness.

Finish: Apples and pears, spicy orange and after notes of sherry. A true pleasure to have tasted and a very enjoyable blended whisky.

Colour: Rich and dark

Nose: Richly spiced woven into delicious vanilla.

Palate: Layer on layer of sweet stewed fruit, Christmas pudding & dark chocolate fused with spice (nutmeg and cinnamon).

Finish: A burst of zesty orange with sweet tobacco, cocoa & rich fruit cake.
