The bottler is Douglas Laing an independent bottler of fine Scotch whisky established in 1948. The concept is to enable whisky lovers around the world a chance to come s close as they can to sampling whisky as it was straight from the cask or having a whisky experience like no other. This bottling is taken from their range of ‘remarkable regional malts’ which is a series of malt whiskies created to take the whisky connoisseur on a journey of the whisky regions of Scotland. Big Peat from Islay, The Epicurean from the Lowlands, Rock Oyster from the country’s islands, Scallywag from Speyside, The Gauldrons from Campbeltown and Timorous Beastie from the Highlands. This limited release of Scallywag sees Douglas Laing add an age statement and also sees the Scallywag’s maturation being 100% Sherry cask matured. It was released for Douglas Laing’s 70th anniversary. A 10 year old expression with a dog on the front of the bottle leading us to understand that the dog would be 70 years old should we be counting in dog years. Watch out for that diggy doggy monocle!
