This blended scotch whisky is a small batch release ‘Vatted Malt’ which marries some of Scotland’s finest maritime malts and aged malts into a real treasure of a whisky. Whiskies distilled on the Isle of Jura, Isle of Arran, Isle of Islay and Isle of Orkney are blended together to display a whisky with a hidden delicacy and plenty of maritime notes. The independent bottler Douglas Laing has again given us a whisky that again excites the pallet like a pearl excites the eyes.

The bottler is Douglas Laing an independent bottler of fine Scotch whisky established in 1948. The concept is to enable whisky lovers around the world a chance to come as close as they can to sampling whisky as it was straight from the cask or having a whisky experience like no other.

Featuring the Scallywag feisty fox terrier dressed as a tiger, Scallywag’s 2022 limited edition is a brave, powerful, self-assured dram, in honour of its namesake. Matured exclusively in Spanish sherry casks, this limited edition bottling is rich with juicy blackberries, thick, sticky treacle and fresh ginger. In line with the Douglas Laing Family philosophy, we are proud to serve this dram with no added colouring, and without chill-filtration, ensuring the whisky in your glass is truly as natural as it gets.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Creamy vanilla, malted barley, stewed banana, nutmeg and butterscotch with cocoa.

Palate: Ripe fruits, figs, cherries, apricots and prunes, crushed hazelnuts, salted caramel and dark chocolate.

Finish: Medium, extremely fruity with more ripe fruits and butterscotch.
