Douglas Laing Independent bottlers were established in 1948 by Fred Douglas Laing. The company select the finest and rarest whisky stocks from around Scotland and bottle them at the chosen moment of perfection. There is never colour added and they are never chill-filtrated. The stocks which are held for many years and are hand selected and placed carefully inside artistically designed bottles which delivers memorable presentation to every bottle. Douglas Laing specialise in Single Malt Scotch Whisky, Single Grain Scotch Whisky, Blended Malt Scotch Whisky and Blended Whisky.
This blended scotch whisky is a small batch release ‘Vatted Malt’ which marries some of Scotland’s finest maritime malts and aged malts into a real treasure of a whisky.
Whiskies distilled on the Isle of Jura, Isle of Arran, Isle of Islay and Isle of Orkney are blended together to display a whisky with a hidden delicacy and plenty of maritime notes. This whisky is then bottled at natural cask strength, delivering the best qualities of the whisky from barrel to bottle. The independent bottler Douglas Laing has again given us a whisky that again excites the pallet like a pearl excites the eyes.
Nose: Salty sea air and rye bread, seaweed and honey sweetness.
Palate: Stewed apples and puff pastry, Islay smoke and Arran honey sweetness.
Finish: Isle of Jura citrus and malted barley lead to Highland Park sea salt and oak.
