Redbreast is a brand of single pot still Irish Whiskey produced by Irish Distillers who also produce Jameson. It is the largest selling single pot still Irish Whiskey in the world. The maturation process consists of spirit being given time to mature in first fill European oak ex-Oloroso Sherry barrels and first fill American oak ex-bourbon barrels.
Matured for no less than 21 years this single pot still whiskey is truly superb and a leader in its field.
So what exactly is single pot still whiskey? Essentially, it’s whiskey that is made from malted and un-malted barley and no other grain. It is unblended (thus the “single pot” bit.) And it must be made in Ireland to be considered as such.
Bottled at 46% abv.
Our Tasting Notes
Nose: Tropical fruits and deep fried Snickers bars. Figs, prunes and quinces excites the palate with caramelised apples and stewed pears.
Taste: Bursting with flavour and a great balance of all the aromas in the nose.
Finish: A superb whiskey medium on the finish and flavour from the start to the end.
