Darkness whisky is a collection of award winning, intensley sherried Scotch whisky. Every whisky in the Darkness range has undertaken a signature maturation of 6 months in a specially hand coopered sherried octave cask. This tiny vessel of only a capacity of 64 litres yields maximum richness and depth plus an alluring 100% natural red amber colour.
The Glenrothes Distillery is an award winning Speyside Single Malt Whisky of exceptional quality. A combination of many factors including unusually slow distillation process in tall copper pot stills deliver a characteristic sweet, fruity and elegant spirit. Each expression has its own unique personality, underpinned by the distinctive, hallmark characteristics of the distillery – ripe fruits, citrus, vanilla and an exquisite spicy finish all encased in the creamiest of textures and with a complex and well-poised balance.
Sourced from the Glenrothes distillery and finished in an ex-Oloroso Sherry octave cask. Boasting bold notes of chewy sherry. Bottled at 56.6% ABV
Our Tasting Notes
Nose: Creamy butterscotch, coffee, tobacco, dark fruits, clove and ginger, mint choc chip ice cream.
Palate: Bounty bar ice lollies, dark caramel, raisins and sultanas, cinnamon, liquorice and leather with fresh malty notes.
Finish: Long with malty vanilla, exotic spices. orange peel and mint.
