Glenfarclas Distillery is situated in the Speyside region in Ballindalloch, Scotland. The term Glenfarclas translates to valley of the green grass. The distillery is owned and run by the Grant family. Boasting a yearly capacity of around 3.5 million litres of spirit helping mature around 68,000 casks which are kept on site in traditional dunnage warehouses. Glenfarclas produce a traditional Highland malt with a heavy sherry influence.
A heavily sherried whisky matured for no less than 21 years in sherry casks under dunnage warehouse conditions. Bottled at 43% ABV.
Nose: Sherried fruits, orange peel, ripe apples, slithered almonds, nutmeg and hints of vanilla.
Taste: Bold and rich with malted barley, dark fruits, hints of smoke and gentle spice.
Finish: Long and very smooth, hints of oak and sherried fruits.
