Fleurieu Distillery Atlantic Crossing Limited Release Single Malt Whisky (700ml)

Volume: 700ml          ABV: 52%          Age: No Age Statement          Country: Australia

A year ago the Fleurieu distillery crossed their Rubicon, a point of no return in their journey from brewery to distillery. They aptly named their second release after that significant milestone. Here then is their Atlantic Crossing. It is the point in their journey where they sail into uncharted deep and dark waters in search of the Promised Land, with first shipments overseas to new markets and new horizons. This single malt is burnt amber in colour and rich in their signature salted caramel style with just a hint of smoke.

A medium peated, port barrel matured award winning release.

Tasting Notes from the Distiller

“The nose is heavily influenced by the port casks, with the earthiness and smoke from the peat forming a fine structure which goes well with the molasses and toffee treacle of the malt. This whisky has excellent mouthfeel with dried fruits, Christmas cake accents and just a bit of coffee ground and smoke from the mid palate onwards. It is in this fourth release that our signature style of smoky salted toffee shines.”
