In Galloway, a collection of dark stone buildings sit perched on the river Bladnoch; the Bladnoch Distillery. With a rich history dating back to 1817, Bladnoch Distillery is one of the oldest Scotch Whisky producers in lowland Scotland, and the most Southerly.
Bladnoch Talia is simply a stunning addition to this range, such a pity it’s very limited and we will only see around 600 bottles worldwide. This whisky is truly a salute to the rebirth of the Bladnoch distillery.
Award winning Master Distiller Ian MacMillan has hand selected every cask and has brought together a spicy but silky expression, elegant with sweet oaky notes and hint of citrus to finish.
Nose: This whisky screams freshness, barley fields, orchard farms, cut grass, sea air and fresh oak. Light and yet sweet with berries and citrus.
Palate: First there’s a splash of oak and malted barley. There’s a little hint of salt and this mixes well with some light citrus. Freshness fills the mouth, more oak and some spice, very pleasant and fresh. This whisky is very well balanced and extremely tasty.
Finish: I don’t want this one to end, to be honest I don’t even want to think about it anymore. It’s just perfect. The finish is long and again with citrus and a little spice. Fantastic and our pick for best whisky 2016
