Balmenach 2007 Aged 14 Years Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky – Cask #BL721 Hidden Spirits (700ml)

Volume: 700ml           ABV: 52.9%           Age: 14 Years  Old          Country: Scotland

Founded by Andrea Ferrari, Hidden Spirits is a relatively new Italian independent bottler and online whisky shop, which prides itself on the meticulously careful selection of its bottlings. Hidden Spirits has its bottle labels designed by different Italian artists, and offers a variety of expressions under several series: the Highproof Collection of cask strength single casks over eight years of age; the Hidden Spirits Classic collection of single casks of varying strength over eight years of age; and the Young Rebels collection of single casks under eight years old.

The Balmenach Distillery  was established in 1824 by entrepreneur James McGregor this distillery lies beyond Grantown-on-Spey in the Haughs of Cromdale. This distillery was one of the first to become legitimate after the Licensing Act of 1823. The distillery takes its water supply from the nearby Cromdale Hills and with it produces around 1,800,000 litres of whisky per year which it mainly uses as a contribution to blend Johnnie Walker. With the whisky from this distillery you can expect peat smoke and a very distinctive flavour. Sharpness and a very rare find.

This independent bottle by the Hidden Spirits Whisky Company was distilled at the Balmenach distillery in Speyside in 2007. It has been matured in a ex Bourbon cask for 14 years and bottled at 52.9% ABV.
