Asta Morris independent bottlers was created by Bert Bruyneel. Bert has had a passion for whisky for over 20 years which was started when back in 1994 he had experienced a Jack Daniels single barrel whisky. Since then he has been heavily involved in the whisky industry winning awards and becoming members of many whisky clubs in Europe. Bert is also an old friend of Bill Walker the former BenRiach, GlenDronach and Glenglassaugh Master Distiller, who is now working with Glenallachie.

Ardmore Distillery is situated in the village of Kennethmont in Aberdeenshire on Scotland’s east coast. Owned and operated by Beam Suntory it was originally built in 1898 and now produces over 6 million litres of spirit per annum. It is better known for producing distillery bottlings of high quality whisky often peated but also non peated.

This independently bottled single malt whisky has been taken from a single ex-Bourbon cask. The spirit is from the Ardmore distillery and has been complimented by the barrel in which it was stored and matured for 8 years. Bottled at natural cask strength of 53% abv producing 268 bottles.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Lemon citrus accompanies floral notes and vanilla pod sweetness. Pickled ginger and grassiness follows.

Palate: Toffee sweetness leads to delicate fruits and plenty of fresh maltiness. There’s touches of smoke and cracked black pepper.

Finish: A long malt driven ending with more smoke and spice.
