Levantine Hill merges two vineyards in the heart of the Yarra valley. The first is one of the highest hills on the Yarra valley floor, the other is on the banks of the Yarra River and alongside the Maroondah Highway Levantine Hill exists for one reason. To create handcrafted wines of uncompromised quality in the traditional French style. That’s why they do everything the traditional way, by hand. To make wine you require a great winemaker. Levantine have called upon the expertise of Paul Bridgemen, one of Australia’s best. This is the start of Levantine Hill’s quest for perfection.
The wines in the Levantine Hill Estate Range are all single vineyard wines produced from grapes grown on the Maroondah Highway Estate. Exhibiting a slow build of power on a detail-laden palate, this Pinot Noir is the result of an assemblage of many individual small batches sourced from the Mooroondah Highway vineyard. Subtly ingrained natural acidity, slow building fruit weight, a line of integrated oak and expansive spreading medium-chain tannins build in layers with each taste. With an ageing potential of eight or more years, this is a classic Pinot Noir in the traditional French style.
