When it comes to wine production regions that have stood the test of time, few can compare with Tuscany. Situated in central Italy, this prolific hillside vineyard region stands tall with its reputation founded on iconic wines such as Chianti and Brunello di Montalcino, which dates back centuries. Amidst the landscapes of Tuscany, steeped in history and artistic legacy, a modern yet traditional ambassador emerges. Capturing the elegance and traditional values of Italy, Atilius finds its roots in an ancient land known for its style and verve for living well and having uncompromising tastes.
Warm temperate coastal regions contrasted with inland valleys help maintain the grape’s balance of sugars, acidity and aromatics.
One variety best known to thrive there is Tuscany’s signature red grape – the Sangiovese, the mainstay variety in almost all of Tuscany’s iconic wines and the main variety used in Atilius reds. At an altitude of 300 meters, in the Pesa River Valley, their grapes grow in nutrient-rich soils composed of limestone, sandstone and volcanic ash, resulting in well-balanced quality Italian wines suitable for all palates and occasions. Riserva is Chianti at its finest and charms connoisseurs in Italy and around the world, for its firm character and tannins. Issued from the best Sangiovese grapes, the wine ages for a minimum of 2 years in oak and 3 months in bottle. Chianti Riserva has a beautiful cellaring potential. Atilius Prestigio is a fascinating and harmonious wine, revealing a seductive nose of wild berries, violet and toasted vanilla. On the palate, it has an intense and round body, lingering into a smooth and tannic finish. Its velvety structure is delicious with anything earthy and aromatic such as osso buco, aged cheeses or roasted lamb.
