Masam SRL is the foremost name in independent bottling. The late Silvano was the first bottler of Scotch whisky outside the UK, beginning in 1968. Some of the most famous and collectable whiskies in the world bear his name. After leaving his former whisky company in 2008 Silvano still wanted to exercise his passion, releasing Masam SRL in 2016. Sadly Silvano passed away in February 2017. Today his wife Maryse continues to bottle whiskies from casks that Silvano purchased under the name Masam SRL, a combination of their names. The company will cease when Silvano’s cask stocks are exhausted making this one of the world’s most collectable independent bottlings.

The Independently owned Loch Lomond Company currently own this large distillery which produces around 2,500,000 litres of whisky per year. There are 8 single malts currently produced from this distillery Loch Lomond, Old Rusdhu and Inchmurrin are the main bottling labels you would tend to discover. Inchmurrin is named after the largest Island on the loch and is bottled as a ten year old. Vintage malts can also be expected from the Loch Lomond distillery 23 , 33 and 30 years old whiskies are not uncommon and very popular worldwide. This distillery was first known as the Littlemill Distillery and was established in 1965 but a distillery was known to be on the site or there about back in 1814. This distillery brings you wonderful notes of vanilla and fresh cereals, spicy and ginger with some peppery flavours. A very refreshing whisky on the palate.

This single malt whisky was distilled in 1996 at the Loch Lomond distillery using malted barley. It was then distilled in a column still before being placed in a single Ex-Bourbon barrel and left to mature for no less than 25 years. In 2021 it was bottled at 55% abv. It is from the last casks of the great Silvano and it is 1 of 182 bottles produced.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Under ripe pears, creamy malt, greek yoghurt, tropical fruits, ice cream Bounty bars and milk chocolate Turkish delight wrappers.

Palate: The creamy coconut and chocolate sensation starts in the palate, hints of well integrated malt and grain, salty and slightly minty.

Finish: Summer berries and creamy vanilla, top marks for this…..it’s brilliant.
