The Dailuaine Distillery derives from the Scottish Gaelic ‘An dail uaine’ meaning ‘green valley’. This distilleries whiskies are rarely seen and sought after when they are available. Owners Diageo use the malt from the distillery in blends, mainly Johnnie Walker. Only the best casks make it out to be independently bottled. Available usually at cask strength as a vintage or aged statement.

This is one of five single cask whiskies in Fable’s first outturn, this Dailuaine represents the Moon chapter in the tale of The Ghost Piper of Clanyard Bay. It has been matured for 11 years in a single ex-Bourbon barrel and selected to be bottled at cask strength. Only 230 bottles wre made available for worldwide distribution. Nose: Malted barley notes mingle with citrus and ripe orchard fruits. Freshly cut peaches and green apple dominate then the nose opens up to charred pineapple and soft cinnamon spice.
Palate: Creamy vanilla combines with toasted malted barley and charred oak. Bees wax and honey sweetness balance with some earthy and mineral notes. Fresh and fruity.
Finish: Toffee apples, vanilla spice, coconut chips and beeswax with soft peppery notes and grapefruit citrus.
